And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Rom 8:28 (NKJ)Are you living in Romans 8:28 today? What a fortress this verse is for those who are in Christ Jesus! We know as Christians that ALL THINGS work together for good! To whom? To THOSE WHO LOVE GOD and are CALLED according to HIS PURPOSE!
Let me explain, it is quite impossible to ever love God unless of course you know God. However, it is impossible to know God unless He first reveals Himself to you. God must first call you! Maybe you're seeking God, you go to church, you're a "good" person, maybe you've even been baptized as a child. Today, you may be a lot of things but are you a child of the Almighty, living God? Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior? Are you living a life led by the Holy Spirit, a life bearing fruits worthy of repentance? Do you relish your times of prayer, the study of His Word and fellowship with the saints? You can do none of these things from your heart unless first God calls you to Himself!
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him... John 6:44
All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Matt 11:27
The point here is that God is the one who saves His people, really saves them! He does not offer salvation, He saves them. From beginning to end He is the One who decisively and infallibly acts so that not one of His own is lost.
Do you know that you are in Christ today? If you died right now you would be caught away into God's glorious presence? If you can answer yes to each of these then let me assure you, Romans 8:28 is your verse! Romans 8:28 is inviting you to enter in, to enjoy security, peace, comfort and rest. Christian, it's time to step out of the hurricane and into the calm of God's promise. Let us repeat this all important and eternal truth once again - ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD AND ARE CALLED BY GOD! Conversely, those who are not called by God, that is those who are not saved, this verse does not and can not give them any comfort or security. Why? Because they do not love God, they do not know God and they are not called by God. What do we do about these lost souls? Pray that God might have mercy upon them and that the Holy Spirit would work a new work within their lives. Share with them the GOOD NEWS of the Gospel! Sow the Word into their lives.
Imagine, no matter the trial, no matter the tribulation, God will work it out for the good! Living inside Romans 8:28 you find security, peace and a promise like no other. Living outside of Romans 8:28 you find chaos, uncertainty, worry, anxiety, frustration and fear! Romans 8:28 is a verse to remember, a verse to stand on, a verse to live and die on. God is not a man that He should lie and this verse is God's Word & promise!
Yes, we continue to do good, we continue to pray, we continue to walk in love and obedience, we continue to hunger and thirst for His righteousness, we continue to study the Word and to rightly divide it...but we also continue to believe that what God has started, God will finish!
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ... Phil 1:6
